Do you want to know what vehicle we think is an excellent option for drivers in Oswego? None other than the 2024 RAV4 or the 2024 RAV4 Prime. These vehicles are tremendous in their appeal because they give you everything you want and need for traveling around your area or when your journey takes you elsewhere, like into Chicago and beyond. Before you go to your local Oswego Toyota dealer, we want to tell you why drivers like yourself should consider the 2024 RAV4 or RAV4 Prime as your next ride. Let’s get started.

An Investment in a RAV4 Means Fewer Stops at the Gas Station

There’s never been anyone who has complained that a car is “too efficient.” People enjoy saving money, and we don’t blame them. The 2024 RAV4 and RAV4 Prime have impressive fuel efficiency; there may be a strong chance you’ve never owned a vehicle with this level of efficiency. The 2024 RAV4 is available in three configurations, with a hybrid and plug-in hybrid accompanying the regular gasoline-powered engine. All three powertrains are fuel-efficient, making it perfect for travel around Oswego or if you need to take the trip East to Chicago. Its exceptional highway mileage also makes this compact SUV a better commuter than similar models from most other competitors.

For example, you’re driving around the city in your 2024 RAV4. You have the base 2.5L I-4 engine with the 8-speed automatic transmission, so driving up Route 31 to get to Aurora will barely budge your fuel tank if that’s a regular commute for you. And, you’ll also save money in your personal life driving the RAV4, whether it’s down Washington Street to get dinner with the family or taking the day off to see a Chicago Bulls or Blackhawks game at the United Center.

Suppose you aren’t interested in a hybrid and opt for something with extra towing power instead. In that case, the standard 2024 RAV4 nets you a 2.5L I-4 engine, clocking in at 203 hp, 184 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs is the result. With a combined fuel economy rating of 30 MPG, netting 27 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway, the 2024 RAV4 paired with the 2.5L I-4 engine is a fuel-efficient ride on both the all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive drivetrains.

But what about the hybrid variant of the 2024 RAV4 and the 2024 RAV4 Prime? As we mentioned, both these models also use a 2.5L I-4 engine, but the difference is that each one uses an eCVT, which means they accelerate differently – and more smoothly – than the transmission found on the regular RAV4. However, part of this comes down to personal preference, which is a great reason to test drive each model before making your purchase.

The hybrid variant of the 2024 RAV4 earns 219 hp, but the plug-in hybrid pushes this an additional 38%, outputting 302 hp. The standard hybrid model uses regenerative braking to recharge its battery. With the 2024 RAV4 Hybrid, you’ll get EPA-estimated ratings of 41 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway (39 MPG combined). The EPA also estimates that the 2024 hybrid model will only consume around 2.6 gal of gas per 100 miles, while the regular RAV4 will burn about 3.3 gal of fuel in that equidistance.

The RAV4 Prime is distinct from the RAV4 and its hybrid cousin in a few granular ways, but its major differentiator is that its take on the 2.5L I-4 engine with electric motors and a battery offers a new way of prolonging your travel range: plugging-in to charge. The battery inside the 2024 RAV4 Prime is an 18 kWh battery, and when holding a complete charge, it gives your SUV an additional 42 miles on top of what you’ll get from the fuel in your tank.

With the electric powertrain components, the 2024 RAV4 Prime earns 94 MPGe combined, while the engine achieves 38 MPG combined, along with the exact estimate as the hybrid model: 2.6 gallons burned per 100 miles. The RAV4 Prime can drive 600 miles when your battery is charged and the fuel tank is full. Let’s consider that driving from Oswego to Chicago is about 46 miles on average, so with a full tank and battery, you can drive to and from Chicago over six times.

The Perfect, Welcoming Interior for Oswego Families

We believe drivers in Oswego will get plenty of enjoyment and use out of the 2024 RAV4 and RAV4 Prime. It’s a vehicle that offers comfort to all on board, no matter where your travels take you. Whether you’re driving the kids and their friends to school at Thompson Jr High School or Southbury Elementary or into Chicago for a day of fun with your friends, the RAV4 and RAV4 Prime have interiors that are perfectly fit for kids and adults.

There are no differences between the two vehicles regarding dimensions like headroom, legroom, etc. This means both the 2024 RAV4 and RAV4 Prime have 37.7 and 39.5 inches of headroom in the front and back rows, 41 inches of legroom in the front, 37.8 inches of legroom in the back, 57.8 inches of front row shoulder room, 56.4 inches of rear row shoulder room, 54.3 inches of front row hip room and 47.7 inches for the second row.

The 2024 RAV4 and RAV4 Prime also have a total of 69.8 cu.ft. of maximum cargo space when the back seats are folded, and the passenger volume measures 98.9 cu.ft. However, the difference between the two is minimum cargo space when you have both rows of seats up. Here, the 2024 RAV4 keeps 37.5 cu.ft. of space, while the RAV4 Prime has 33.5 cu.ft. of minimum cargo space.

With the RAV4, Safety Is Standard

We love villages like Oswego because the hustle and bustle of a city like Chicago can be a bit much sometimes. One look at traffic inside the city makes you glad you live in a more quaint suburb of the State of Illinois. However, that doesn’t mean that driving is always safe, so there are features that will be useful wherever you are, whether riding around Oswego on a peaceful Sunday drive, on the freeway, or trying to maneuver around downtown Chicago. We’re talking about safety features, and the 2024 RAV4 and RAV4 Prime come standard with an array of them.

Both SUVs come with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, meaning each of the 2024 models comes with Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, and much more. You also get a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert at no extra cost, which is a nice bonus, considering not many other manufacturers treat these features with that kind of gratuity.
