2021 Toyota Truck Lineup Highlights

As we mentioned briefly before, there are two trucks in the current Toyota lineup. These are the Tacoma and the Tundra. Both are very popular, reliable, and highly rated. Let’s take a closer look at each model to see what a Toyota truck has to offer.

The Toyota Tacoma first entered the market in 1995, and it quickly became the most popular small truck to ever grace the American roads. Cultivating a reputation for reliability, this pickup can easily drive for 500,000 miles and still keep going with no major issues. It’s not uncommon to see original ’95 Tacomas still roaming around, and that is just one reason why people love them so much.

The new 2021 Toyota Tacoma hasn’t lost its appeal. Starting at $26,150, this pickup is available in six trim levels and two cab styles. You can opt for the Access Cab (extended) or the Double Cab along with your choice of a standard 6.1-ft bed or the short 5.1-ft bed. Out of the six trims, there are two available engine options. The SR and SR5 models are equipped with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. With the ability to tow up to 3,500 pounds, it’s a pretty robust powertrain.

The other option is standard on the remaining trims. It’s a 3.5-liter V6 motor that generates 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. It also pushes the maximum towing limit up to 6,800 pounds. The average camper weighs about 5,000 pounds, so this powertrain is tough enough to pull a small RV. If you are looking for an off-roading version of the Tacoma, we recommend the TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, or TRD Pro trims, which are equipped with off-road friendly features.

First released in 1999, the Toyota Tundra doesn’t get as much publicity as the Tacoma. However, it is still a top-rated truck in America, and everyone who drives one seems to love it. The new 2021 version has only gotten better. Available in six trim levels and three cab styles, you can find the perfect match to suit your daily driving needs. To make things easier, all of the new Tundra models are powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. It can tow anywhere from 8,800 pounds to 10,200 pounds without breaking a sweat. If you prefer a top-of-the-line trim that can conquer just about any terrain, then we recommend the TRD Pro. However, if you like to have something a little unique, you can opt for the 1794 Edition.

Toyota Warranties

Every new 2021 Toyota vehicle comes with a 36-month/36,000-mile limited warranty that covers all components, with the exception of normal wear and tear, along with a few other bells and whistles. A 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty is also included to cover any issues with the engine, front-wheel drive system, rear-wheel drive system, airbags, and transmission. There is also a Rust-Through Warranty that covers the repair costs for corrosion of sheet metal during the first 60 months. The best part about this coverage is that there is no mileage limit. You can rest assured that you will be taken care of if anything goes wrong within the timeframe of these warranties.
